It’s been a very eventful year of beer brewing, competitions, club meet-ups, world events and happenings. We’ve come a long way, and now it’s [finally] time to chill out a bit, relax, and have a few beers with friends. That’s right, it’s the GTA Brew’s holiday social get-together. This is one you DON’T want to miss – fellow club member and homebrewer-gone-pro Andrew McCready has invited us into his dojo at Bickford Brewing for the celebration once again. Grab a beer on tap and some cans to go!
Also be sure to SIGN-UP FOR STRUCTURED TASTINGS if you’d like some feedback on your latest brew. This is a great way to get a judge’s feedback prior to (or without) the hassle of registering for a formal competition.
Other than that, there’s no presentation this month, this meeting is all about hanging out, reminiscing about old times, sharing brews and talking beer.
Don’t forget to bring your tasting glass! And we’re giving out special bonus high-fives to anyone who wears something particularly festive to the meeting.

Bickford Brewing: Hand Made, Mouth Drank
In a basement, somewhere between the dryer and the furnace, Andrew McCready honed his craft. All that toil and struggle paid off, with numerous homebrewing medals to show for it and a triumphant launch into Toronto’s pro brewing scene in 2023.
As a fierce supporter of the homebrewing hobby, Andrew has continued the tradition of dedicating one of his taps to a rotating GTA Brews collaboration beer. Featured this December is a Sweet Stout with Coffee & Maple that Andrew brewed with club member Mark Hubbard. Grab a pint at the meeting and tell them your thoughts right to their faces! And be sure to visit Bickford again in early 2025 for the next GTA Brews collaboration.
We’re happy to be hosting this year’s holiday party at Andrew’s bickford brewing, again. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support a fellow club member, show our appreciation for his continued collabs for GTABrews tap, enjoy his fantastic beers, and catch up with everyone before the holidays.
Membership & Guest Attendance
Due to AGCO requirements for serving home-brewed beer under SOP (Special Occasion Permit), club membership is required to attend monthly meetings. However, prospective members are invited to attend their first meeting as a guest to check us out before committing to membership.
