A Grand Master BJCP Judge, Master Cicerone, award-winning author, and leading educator in beer and food pairing, Mirella has dedicated her career to shaping the craft beer industry through her expertise, passion, and dedication.

Presentation: Beer & Food Pairing with Mirella Amato
Mirella is renowned for her deep understanding of beer styles, sensory analysis, and perfect food pairings. She made history as the first woman in Canada to become a Certified Cicerone and later became the first non-U.S. resident to earn the prestigious Master Cicerone title. In January 2025, she achieved yet another milestone, becoming the first Master Cicerone and Grand Master BJCP Judge—a distinction held by only a handful of individuals worldwide!
With her company Beerology, Mirella has dedicated her career to educating beer lovers and industry professionals alike. She has also played a pivotal role in global beer education as Senior Business Development Manager for Beer at WSET. Her expertise has been recognized internationally, including an induction as an Honorary Knight of the Brewer’s Paddle by the Belgian Brewers’ Guild.
At our meeting, Mirella will be presenting on beer and food pairing, sharing her insights on how to elevate dining experiences through carefully curated combinations of flavors. Due to AGCO requirements for serving home-brewed beer under SOP (Special Occasion Permit), club membership is required to attend monthly meetings. However, prospective members are invited to attend their first meeting as a guest to check us out before committing to membership.
