“He who controls the spice rules the universe!” Is there such thing as too much vegetable/herb/spice beer? Probably! But GTA Brews Member and Spice Lord Kyle Kellam has a borderline unhealthy obsession with finding out where the limit is.
For our February meeting Kyle will be presenting about his experiences brewing spiced beers, including his inspirations, different methods for introducing adjuncts, lessons learned, and a tasting of two freshly canned batches!
To stretch people’s brewing creativity, members are also invited to join the “The Spice! It’s In Everything Here!” Challenge, in which participants will draft from a list of Base Beer Styles and a list of Spices, from which they’ll attempt to brew a beer. Then, they can share their bottle (or be judged? To be confirmed…) with others at a future meeting!

They say variety is the spice of life, but Kyle Kellam says no, it’s actually spice that’s the spice of life. And he’s willing to prove it in this month’s presentation all about using vegetables, herbs and spices in beer brewing.
Kyle’s experience with these ingredients has earned him various nicknames over the years, such as Spice Lord, Sergeant Peppercorn, The Preacher, and the Kwisatz Haderach of carbonated beverages. This is a club meeting you won’t want to miss.
Membership & Guest Attendance
Due to AGCO requirements for serving home-brewed beer under SOP (Special Occasion Permit), club membership is required to attend monthly meetings. However, prospective members are invited to attend their first meeting as a guest to check us out before committing to membership.
