Location: Muddy York Brewing Co.
Date: Monday December 11th, 2023
Time: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM ET
It's that time of year again, and we'll be ringing it in with a festive holiday social get-together at our old stomping grounds Muddy York Brewing. This is one you DON'T want to miss, as it is likely our last opportunity to enjoy the space & hospitality of Muddy York's 22 Cranfield Rd location (more on that below).
In addition to socializing, spreading holiday cheer and sharing homebrew, we'll also be kicking off the quarter finals of Last Brewer Standing. Competitors should arrive around 7pm with their bottles ready for judging (and feel free to bring another bottle or two for sharing...).
Other than that, there's no presentation this month, this meeting is all about hanging out, reminiscing about old times, sharing brews and talking beer.
Don’t forget to bring your tasting glass!
- Social Time / Registration: 7:00 PM
- Last Brewer Standing Quarter Finals: ~7:30 PM
- More Social Time: ~8:10 PM -10:00 PM
A Special Thank You to an Amazing Partner and Friend of GTA Brews: Muddy York Brewing
Muddy York is a family-run brewery that has been handcrafting award-winning beers on-site since 2013. With an extensive range that goes from traditional ales and modern IPAs to sours, hard seltzers, and some incredible barrel-aged specialties, they have built an incredible reputation in the brewing community. And, their long-standing support of GTA Brews has also earned them a special place in the heart of homebrewers across the province.
Despite a decade of success, and even the recent accolade of Canadian Brewery of the Year, changes to Muddy York's lease have prompted them to move on from their cherished location at 22 Cranfield Rd. Thankfully, this isn't the end for Muddy York - they will be moving on to a new location in Stouffville in 2024! However, this December club meeting is most likely our last chance to gather at the original location together, and is a great opportunity for us to thank Jeff & the team for their support, their beers, and the memories they've made with us throughout the years at 22 Cranfield.
On behalf of GTA Brews we'd like to extend a huge thank you to Muddy York for being such a great friend to the club. Thank you Jeff, Susan, and all the staff (especially Nelson, the brewery cat, who cherished our meetings with his indifference while plotting against homebrewers and beer enthusiasts) for welcoming us as GTA Brews members, fellow brewers and friends into the warm space you built.
Membership & Guest Attendance
Due to AGCO requirements for serving home-brewed beer under SOP (Special Occasion Permit), club membership is required to attend monthly meetings. However, prospective members are invited to attend their first meeting as a guest to check us out before committing to membership.
Attend once and you’ll want to keep coming back, we promise!
