It’s already May and we’re going “back to the future”! We’ll be back, for the first time in a long time, at Rainhard Brewing!! Rainhard will be our West Side meeting location moving forward. For this meeting we have Josh Davis, BJCP judge and one of our new members over the last year will be discussing another Exbeeriment! This time it’s a Pale Ale triangle test! There will be some announcements and social time as well
As we are now back to in-person meetings, please be respectful of the presenters and keep your chatting to a minimum.
Also, please don’t forget to patronize our hosts!! Rainhard offers a wide selection of fine beers to go so don’t hesitate to grab some especially if you don’t get out to see them as often as you’d like!

Presentation: More Exbeerimentation with Josh Davis!
In May we are happy to continue our recurring series dedicated to uncovering the truth behind the countless homebrewing myths, theories and best practices out there. Host Josh Davis is putting a brewing theory to the test by guiding us through a structured blind triangle taste test of two Pale Ales with a subtle difference between them. Josh’s custom software will be utilized to gather your tasting notes in real time and show the results live. Be sure to attend to see if you can detect a difference and figure out which brewing theory is in the hot seat! TASTE THE SCIENCE!
Josh is a BJCP Judge and professional Chemical Engineer with a passion for applying scientific principles to the art of fermentation. With roughly 10 years of brewing experience, a few medals, and countless solo brewing experiments under his belt he is well positioned to lead the charge towards better brewing science.
Membership & Guest Attendance
Due to AGCO requirements for serving home-brewed beer under SOP (Special Occasion Permit), club membership is required to attend monthly meetings. However, prospective members are invited to attend their first meeting as a guest to check us out before committing to membership.
