Both Mary Beth Keefe and Tim Burnett from The Granite Brewery & Tied House will join us to talk a bit about open fermentation using Ringwood yeast culture! Join us to hear Mary Beth and Tim discuss a bit about The Granite’s history and why their open fermentation method is quite unique!

As with any conference call, please mute your microphone if you aren’t speaking, this really helps cut down on background noise. During Q&A segments we will make use of the “Raise Hand” feature.

Presentation: The Granite Brewery’s Use Of Ringwood Yeast with Mary Beth Keefe and Tim Burnett

We are thrilled to have both Mary Beth Keefe and Tim Burnett of The Granite Brewery & Tied House talk to us about Ringwood yeast and open fermentation this month. Mary Beth is the Brewmaster at The Granite Brewery, a family-owned, OG Toronto Craft Brewpub that will celebrate its 30th anniversary this August. Mary Beth got her start filling casks while still in grade school, and has held every job title at the Granite at some point. Tim started at The Granite Brewery as a cellar hand in 2018, became an assistant brewer shortly thereafter, and is now the Brewery Operations Manager. He specializes in long brew days and creative solutions for a 30-year old brewery in an even older building, often at the same time.

Brewery Show/Tell

During our last few meetings, we have had several club members show and tell their home brewery spaces. The feedback has been very positive so we want to keep it going! It’s a great opportunity to see more of our club members’ brewing spaces and equipment that we wouldn’t normally see in an in person club meeting.

The first 30 minutes of the meeting will be dedicated to this idea! In order to execute this in an orderly fashion, we need people to email us to sign up!

Please email meetings@gtabrews.ca to sign up, or IM David Chang-Sang on Facebook.
