GTA Brews is privileged to be able to organize a selection of homebrews that are served to the public at Cask Days, Toronto’s incomparable annual craft beer festival at Evergreen Brickworks. We are now soliciting applications to take part in this year’s annual Cask Days Homebrew Section.

Those selected will be paired with a brewing partner and asked to brew 11 gallons of beer that will be available at the festival for attendees to sample. Serving your own beer to the wildly enthusiastic Cask Days crowd will no doubt go on to become one of your best and most rewarding memories as a brewer. Your beer will be available to over 10,000 attendees on October 19-21

This incredible chance carries with it some significant responsibilities. Applicants must commit to:
– Brewing 11 gallons of beer with a partner (either on one or two systems that you bring with you) at Rainhard Brewing on September 9th, at an overflow day organized by GTA Brews, or at another brewery willing to allow you to brew under their manufacturing license that you organize yourself. Beer is pitched at the brewery and then taken home for fermentation.
– Volunteering to pour for at least 1 Cask Days session.
– Attending cleaning day to assist with washing casks before the festival.
– Making arrangements to pick up your cask, fill and carbonate it, and return it to a central drop off location the weekend before the festival.

A survey has been made to collect your availability and a bit about your brewing experience/ideas for Cask Days beers. This year, we will be pairing people who are new to brewing for Cask Days with those who either have experience brewing for Cask Days or for other public opportunities. Preference will be given to those who are available for all of the required responsibilities and every effort will be made to ensure that people with similar brewing interests are paired together.
